Years ago, the old (now gone) WMEX/1510 Boston called itself  "The
ever-newer WMEX".  It was in those days (honest) that THEY assigned jock
names.  So after hiring and firing two Dan Donovans, for example, they hired
a third, and named the third Dan Donovan.  Same applied for Melvin X.
Melvin, and probably even Johnny Dark (not the former WRKO's Johnny Dark).

Since hardly anyone on the air uses his or her real name anyway, it hardly
matters.
