Yes, WLUX is on 540, and it's on the south shore of Long Island (Islip, I
think), so though it may be audible in CT, I don't think the signal can be
competitive there. (The soil conductivity on LI is horrendous, and, despite
the low frequency, not much of WLUX's 250W signal can be left by the time it
reaches the Sound.) WHLI Hempstead, which is the station Marty meant, I'm
sure, also does adult standards, but is a daytimer. It's on 1100 (with 10
kW-DA-D) and has a decent signal in southwestern CT. I doubt whether WHLI
actually does any selling in CT, however. I think the purpose of increasing
to 10 kW (quite a while back; WHLI was 250W for many years) was to reach the
Nassau/western Suffolk market despite that awful soil conductivity.
