Canadien Content? The prime time line-up for
Canada's Global network consists of nothing but
shows like "Friends", "Mad About You", "Frazier", and "Maximum Bob". 
And of course you know how Bob and Doug
McKenzie came to be-- the producers of SCTV
were told that there had to be Canadian-related
material on the show, so Dave Thomas and
Rick Moranis said, "What, do you want us to show
two guys who sit around drinking beer, frying back bacon, and wearing
tocques?"  Ah...an idea was born. Wonder why it took so long for an
enterprising beer company (Molson, I believe) to tap (pun intended)
those guys for an ad campaign!   :)
