So what?  Remember, according to their narrative, the subject was
suggested by the station.

No, I'm taking this at face value.  I've seen quite a few crackpot stories
in the years I've been practicing law.  I've even had to listen to some of
them in person, as they sought my services.  This does not read like a
crackpot story.  The most common feature of a crackpot story is that it is
full of innuendo, name-calling, and a lot of general statements, with
little or nothing in the way of actual facts.  This narrative is detailed,
factual, and moderate in tone.  I can't judge the truthfulness of any of
their statements, but, at least in this narrativ, they come across as
normal people with a real grievance.
