So how was it managed when WJIB had USA Network news? >>
All I remember doing when I had to pot up the 9 pm Sunday night news (back in
the heyday of my weekly local sports show) was I pressed a button on a black
box, which also controlled the music being played, and somehow it magically
appeared. (I hope I'm not giving away all of Bob's secrets!) Bob would know
more about the technical end of it.
I have a feeling that another reason for WJIB not being a network affiliate is
the number of newscasts which would have to be cleared. With USA, for example,
it was 50 a week; I'm sure it's a lot higher for any of the ABC networks and
NBC/Mutual/Westwood One.
