I wonder how many other former top-40 stations now all-talk have
done Holiday weekend "Retro Top-40" weekends. And of those, how many
others besides WABC and WRKO have used talkmasters to introduce the
music.
It would be one thing if these stations had a talk host who was once a
top-40 "jock" either at that station (before the format change) or
elsewhere, but having talkmasters who are very experienced at hosting
talk shows--but know nothing about trying to do music shows--just
doesn't cut it.
Perhaps WODS-103.3 could do what it's sister WCBS-FM in New York has
done on occassion--and that is, to do a retro weekend with the actual
"big names" from the past. It would be MUCH better than what WRKO,
WABC and maybe others have done.
