The Old WEEI

I seem to recall that the problem with the od WEEI was not its ratings
but its ancient demos----Salesmen from competing stations would play
cassettes of old people calling in to WEEI talk shows for potential
clients.  This was before the days of cell phones (which opened up talk
shows to a more diverse audience) and agressive call screening by
producers to produce a more diverse mix.
