By using a separate microphone processor that compresses, limits, and
de-esses just the microphone audio which is then coupled to the
regular audio chain. These units are specially made just for speech.
The ones of better breeding allow for a quick personality change for
each jock. Newer ones are digital like everything else. A typical
example is a Symmetrix 628.
