I guess we will agree to disagree then Dan because I was never impressed with
Vickie Jones.
She has this swarmy attitude and always acted as if she was better than the
lowly callers. The interaction between her and Carr was awful, an
embarrassment, with Carr trying to do what he is good at, muckraking, and most
of it going over Vickie's head. I was also angered by her blatant hypocrisy on
issues.
During the Waco siege, she spouted the Clinton/Reno line; Koresh was a child
molester, we must save the children, Koresh should be shot, he must be killed
that "Wacko from Waco" -- on and on, stirring up the pot. 'Why don't they go
in there and kill him?' she angrily shouted a few days before the FBI gassed
Mt. Carmel.
After they burned the church to the ground, killing all those children they
were supposed to be saving, Vickie went on about what a tradegy it was and how
the govt. should've never done that. I called her up, yelling, that it was
idiots like her who, just the day before, was irrationally screaming for
Koresh's head. She hung up on me. Since then those of us who thought what the
govt. did there in Waco was a travesty and illegal have been proven correct as
the Oscar nominated documentary "Waco: The Rules of Engagement" revealed that
the FBI was firing automatic weapons at women and children trying to escape
out of the church's back door.
I have not heard her show but I know people who have and they say she is
tagged as the "Tabloid Queen" or something (like that is something to shoot
for) and that she actually spent the last few years doing only shows on OJ.
God, what a bore!
As bad as Howie is, and I do think he is at times, he is so much more
tolerable that Vickie Jones ever was.

<< I disagree completely. I think she's a top-flight talk talent--well
informed, quick-witted, and sharp tongued. The first time I heard her (I was
visiting Nashville and she was doing AM drive on WLAC at the time), I knew
in an instant that she belonged in Boston. A few months later, she was here.
I think she epitomizes what talk talent should be and do. She and her
producer certainly acted awfully suspicious of callers, however, and that's
not a particularly good way to attract calls.
I just wish she could have used her quick wit more effectively to decimate
that s__t for brains Carr. Nobody deserves to be the object of Victoria's
derision more richly than he does. We've had some a__h_l_s on Boston radio
over the years, but nobody comes close to Carr in being such pond scum. He's
a disgrace to a city that prides itself on its erudition, sophistication,
and culture. >>
