Subject: Re: "The Touch".

As to why (as someone posted on this newsgroup) New York's WRKS and
Philadelphia's WDAS do well with an Urban A/C format.......

Both are LIVE AND LOCALLY PROGRAMMED!

If either were to go satellite, most of their listeners might drift away
(at least I think they would. If they don't, then the average radio
listener is dummer than I think and "satellite fever" might begin to
spread to big-signal top-50 market stations).

Perhaps if Urban A/C is the "final" format for 1150, perhaps it may be
possible in the futurte to have weekday drive-times (and perhaps also
weekday mid-days) locally-programmed. It might pay off in higher ratings
 for those dayparts.

In the meantime, let me adjust my radio dial away from "All Your Favorites
On Your Favorite Station That Doesn't Give it's ID except numbled at
the Top Of The Hour. It's 5 Minutes Of. Don't ask me what hour it's 5
Before, because I Am In A Dallas Studio Sending You This Impersonal,
Nationally-Generic Programming By Satellite In The Hope You Think It's
Originating At The Station You're Listening To".
