Radios with tubes (Was Re: WQEW)

        I've thought about buying an antique radio, but to actually use it
for AM and SW reception (or even mono FM, too, if it were a set from the
late '40s) in addition to just having it as a collector's item. And I
wonder whether you find that your old radio sounds better / pulls in
signals better than a lot of the solid-state sets that are sold nowadays?
Does yours have SW? What type of antenna do you use on it?
