Subject: Re: Amateur hour at WHYN
This simple list should be hanging in every radio station, large or
small...
The three basic rules for Board Ops. :
1. Do not cut a commercial short or miss a
commercial break. NEVER. The station
may lose money. Losing money is BAD!
2. Do not miss a legal ID. EVER. The station may
be fined $$$ each time an ID
is missed. The station may lose money. Losing
money is BAD.
3. Make sure that there is audio going out over
the air at all times. Dead air
causes listeners to change stations. Losing
listeners potentially means losing
advertisers. Losing advertisers means the station
is losing money. Losing money
is BAD.
Why is it BAD if the station is losing money, you
ask? Remember that it is the
station that pays you money to work there. If the
station loses money, there
may not be enough money to pay you, and you may
have to look for another job.
Mistakes are bound to happen from time to time,
just try to make them few and
far between. And the most important thing to
remember: HAVE FUN!
