Amateur hour at WHYN

I'm listening to the Red Sox-A's game on WHYN Springfield. The
presentation is, to put it kindly, ragged.
First, at 3:20, with Garciaparra up in the top of the first, the
play-by-play was dropped for a full local commercial break. They let
both ads run before returning to the game. Then, at 4:08, again with the
Sox at bat, an outdated promo -- "Only one day to the Red Sox season
opener ... on WHYN Springfield" -- ran three times over the network
audio, followed each time by a snatch of the ABC News theme.
Can any of you radio pros explain how this sort of slipshoddery happens
on a weekday afternoon on a major station in its market?
