Interestingly, while there is a perception that there are lots and lots of
Jews, the fact is we are about 3% of the United States total population...
(Hitler did his job all too well, but even before Hitler, Jews were only
about 5%...)
The fasting growing religion in the USA is Islam, and other than the
Farrakhan folks who do a truly hate-mongering show (I've heard it on a
couple of college stations and I cringed at some of what was said...),
American Moslems have been slow to grasp the possibilities of radio. But
you raise a good point-- given that most religious radio is owned or done by
Christians, would any of these stations allow a Moslem or a Jewish or a
Buddhist programme, even if it were potentially profitable? (I saw a recent
quote from one station manager of a southern Christian station who says he
only allows "real Christians" to broadcast over his airwaves; among those he
said were not real Christians were Catholics, Mormons, and Jehovah's
Witnesses... loud sigh...)
