That's a wholly different scenario than the WNAC/WLAW/WVDA saga. Instead of
a license ever being *bought*, American Radio Systems bought the
programming, call letters, and the contracts of all AM 590 personnel. So,
in other words, WEEI became WBNW and WHDH simply decided to purchase the
call letters. Now, it might have been different if, when the deal was
originally planned out, the WHDH calls were actually picked up by Back Bay
Broadcasters.
