I won't comment on WBPS' signal (it's non-existent here in Seattle). But
it's great to hear that Donn is back on the air! I recall listening to him
on WMEX around 1960 or so when he did a 6 to 8 pm shift, just before Arnie
Ginsberg's legendary "Night Train" show. Several years later he turned up
on WKBR (1250 AM) in Manchester, NH.

What a line-up 'MEX had circa 1960: the original "Fenway" from 5:30 to 10
am, Dan Donovan mid-days 10 to 2, Melvin X. Melvin's "Gold Platter Show"
from 2 to 6:00 pm, Donn Parker 6 to 8, Woo-Woo Ginsberg 8 to 10 pm, and (oh,
yes) Jerry Williams from 10 pm to midnight or so. (Anyone else want to post
about WMEX in the late 50's / early 60's?)

Just a word or two about Little Walter. He's a New England original, and he
REALLY gets into and enjoys his work. I think he's a great talent. (Also,
he's got an AMAZING collection of 50's doo-wop and R & B records!) He was
on AT LEAST four Boston area stations between 1965 and 1980. I first heard
him on WBCN in the mid-60's and last heard him on WCGY in the late 70's
before I moved out here.

Take care--
