WLYN--Add Media Group

I was tuning past WLYN AM last evening and happened to hear the legal ID.
(Actually, I heard the spanish version.) Best I could tell, it said WLYN
Lynn-Boston, a service of the Add Media Group. Add Media is well known for
its LMAs of stations that do leased ethnic programming, although ADD Media
actually owns WRCA. Does anyone know whether Add Media now owns WLYN, or is
this just another LMA?

Also, in the latest M-Street Directory (now almost a year old) WRCA is
listed as being owned by Add Media but being managed by La Marca Management.
Is Add Media itself now handling the leasing of time, the billing of
advertisers, the credit checks of both program producers and advertisers,
and the production of spot announcments? Or does Add Media subcontract these
function to La Marca? I never cease to be amazed by how many hands seem to
be able to go into the till in a brokered-time operation and yet everyone
seems to make money--the station owners, the station managers (different
entity from the station owners), the lessees/program producers, and the
advertisers. It's an awfully long food chain. Amazing that there could be
money in it for everyone involved.

It sounds as if there is an incredible opportunity for some enterprising
person to make a killing by assuming a greater portion of the
responsibility. It's not one of radio's more glamorous facets, but it must
be tremendously lucrative.
