At 3 AM, I don't happen to have all the information about WHEB handy (I know
they used to be called "Webbie"-- gasp-- and I saw ads for them in old
issues of Broadcasting back in 1932 when they originally went on the air...)
I don't have the exact date when Knight bought the station-- but it would
have been in the late 50s or early 60s... I can definitely find out more for
you-- and some of the station's history is written up in the book "Granite
and Ether", a history of radio in New Hampshire... (Btw, I too used to be
puzzled by the "Knight Quality"-- it certainly sounded as if they were
saying their daytime programming was nothing to write home about, but at
least the Nights-- when most teens listened-- were great...) Hey speaking
of old Knight stations, didn't he used to own "Fall River's Famous WSAR"???
