>Now playing....Sour Suite from The Guess Who, great song!

A truly under-appreciated song. One of the most moving concert moments I
can ever recall was in New York in around 1976 when Burton had just gotten
sober and was off on his solo career. He did this song acoustically-- just
him and a piano-- and he explained the reference to "it's just like 46201"--
which of course is the zip code for Indianapolis, where, as he told it, his
father-- who had abandonned the family when Burton was very young-- suddenly
popped up and re-introduced himself. Turned out he was broke, his son was
now famous, and the guy was asking Burton for money... that incident is what
the song "Sour Suite" was about...

Recently, Aaron sent me a tape of Arnie Ginsburg from about 1966. It wasn't
Arnie's best show, but it served as a reminder of how much music WMEX used
to play-- and how many of those really great songs which never became hits
still sound good on the radio now and then...
