Russian immigrant (on American soil) Vladimir Zworykin actually was not the
only inventor of what is now television. It seems one Philo Farnsworth
invented the Image Dissector and David Sarnoff in 1939 was forced to pay
patent royalties to young Philo. The Discovery Channel site is the reference:
