Time oddity (DST)

In early 1974 and continuing until early 1975, the entire USA was
required to observe year-round Daylight Savings Time due to the energy
crisis that was happening at the time. The idea was to cut down the
amount of energy used for factories and cars and such. What the reasonn
was for all was beyond me. All I knew was that I had to walk to school
in the dark at 7:45 am. Two weeks later, the school changed its' sked
to have school begin one hour later. That was 1974, today they still
use that same schedule. That was a weird time in history.
