The late Steve Hnat, creator of the Hnat/Hindes line of audio processors,
was WVBF's chief engineer for a while. He designed and built the audio
processors at both WVBF and WKOX.

When were they on the WBZ tower? By 1980 they were using the Stainless
(candelabra) tower, and their transmitter was in Channel 56's building.
The call letters WVBF stood for Virginia B. Fairbanks. In Florida there
was (and I believe still is) a WRMF named for Richard M. Fairbanks.
