If I remember right, in the 1960's the FCC made a big stink over KABL
Oakland CA using the ID "KABL Oakland.....in the air, everywhere over San
Francisco". The same sort of ID was used by WHIL (WXKS) at the time, and
based on the FCC ruling and fine to KABL, they quickly changed from "WHIL
Medford....in the air, everywhere over Boston" to just "WHIL Medford....in
the air, everwhere".
