A lot of NPR stations are preempting programs this weekend for the Capitol Steps 4th of July Special, perhaps that?s what they were running? > > I tried WGBH-FM...but it didn't appear on the schedule for it's normal 12Noon run. WGBH cancelled the Sunday rerun a while ago, > > It must have run Saturday night...but dis any station cary the Sunday feed of PHC? > > I would love to have taped it. > Have you tried prairiehome.org ? You can listen to the program there. Here in the Tampa Bay area on WUSF-FM the first half-hour was broadcast as dead air, RF was OK but no audio at all. Someone must have been asleep at the switch. I presume whoever was responsible will hear a lot about it on Tuesday morning, if the person still has a job by then. The Sunday rerun though was good. From my apartment in Valatie NY, I was able to positively identify reception of the following: KBDZ 93.1 Perryville, MOKSPQ 93.9 West Plains, MOKGMO 100.7 Cape Girardeau, MO I also picked up a station with a CHR format on 92.5 that I was not able to positively identify.? Judging by the area of the country I received the other stations from, I believe it was KSYN Joplin, MO. Then, as soon as the sun set at about 9:00 PM, all of the e-skip faded out and it was back to normal FM reception.? I didn't realize that daylight was a prerequisite for e-skip to occur (or am I mistaken?) Anyone else happen to notice any unusual FM reception tonight? I didn?t note anything up here on the North Shore at that time, beyond some weak 27 MHz (the CB band, particularly 27.025?Ch.6?the prime ?skipland? channel) activity. There are a couple of ?skip maps? out there that show whats going on: http://www.tvcomm.co.uk/g7izu/Autosave/NA%20Es%20MAP_AutoSave.JPG http://www.on4kst.info/chat/map_data2.php as well as a whole dx map site: http://www.dxmaps.com/spots/map.php?Frec=AL2&Map=NA > Then, as soon as the sun set at about 9:00 PM, all of the > e-skip faded out and it was back to normal FM reception. > I didn't realize that daylight was a prerequisite for > e-skip to occur (or am I mistaken?) As a specific, pure causation, no. However, its prime times are late morning?early afternoon, then again around supper time. One of the believed causes of E?skip is thunderstorm activity (somewhere in range of the skip path, not necessarily at the end points), which usually settles down at sunset. Also, a specific subtype of E?skip is meteor scatter, which is usually?but not always??ping?y (particularly noticeable on 27 MHz). ~Kaimbridge~ -- -- -- Wiki?Sites Contribution History Pages: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Kaimbridge math.wikia.com/wiki/Special:Contributions/Kaimbridge wiki.gis.com/wiki/index.php/Special:Contributions/Kaimbridge rosettacode.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Kaimbridge ***** Void Where Permitted; Limit 0 Per Customer. ***** From markwats@comcast.net Tue Jul 19 20:45:35 2016 From: markwats@comcast.net (Mark Watson) Date: Tue, 19 Jul 2016 20:45:35 -0400 Subject: Beasley Acquires Greater Media Message-ID: <00ad01d1e220$07926300$16b72900$@comcast.net> Radio Insight reports that Greater Media is exiting the radio business.
