towers on the ocean need a lot of prep when they are painted. It
will be a couple more weeks. Daily 9a-3p weather permitting. The
Aux is a 10KW non-D in Allston.

Subject: WBZ at Low Power
There's been a fair little bit of buzz here and there about WBZ (AM)
operating at reduced power periodically during the past several weeks. I'm
not sure whether this is being done at randomly selected times or whether
there is a set schedule involved, but it seems to occur most frequently
during weekdays, in the middle of the day between the morning and afternoon
drive times. The station's normal 50-kw signal is usually the strongest I
receive up here in midcoast Maine, but lately it has frequently been barely
listenable.
Does anyone know what they're up to down there in Hull? This occurred last
year for a while, too, but it didn't last this long.
