I think he hits 90 on Friday ( August 5th )

I had met him as a teenager when I wandered into the studios at Fenway
Park (1964 or 65) and he could not have been nicer and it was amazing
watching him run his board.

What I remember more is few years later when I met him one late night
at the infamous 'Boston Press Club' which is where newspaper and
TV-radio types went after work and closing time was simply a
suggestion. So I am 21-22 and he is in his mid to late 40's and
working as a salesman at WRKO next door and I said to him 'You should
go back on the air' and his reply was 'Why? Nobody remembers me.'.
HA!!!!!

What is forgotten about Arnie was he was also WMEX's chief engineer
until he bolted for WRKO. He did not have a diploma mill FCC First -
he knew his stuff and in fact designed the WMEX studios at 111
Broadway. He also designed Channel 66 and of course that is where he
made his millions when he sold out to Home Shopping.

A humble man with no ego.

Happy Birthday Arnie.
