Except when I have to listen to a station that I am working for (say, to spot a problem), or to a favorite NPR program, my commutes (ranging 10 minutes to 2 hours each way) are filled with CDs from my library. I keep a Case Logic case holding 30 jewel cases in the Explorer, and can add two more of those cases for vacations or other multi-day trips. If anyone would like to see the current contents of the case (I have rather diverse tastes reflecting 45 years in radio) drop me a line off-list.
