I assume this is the Brockton station? I hadn't noticed any billboards or other visibility in Mattapan before, and wondered if the owners are now putting more effort into promoting it as a local station. (No city is mentioned on the billboard-- just "Radio Azure" and the dial position and format.) Since the Mattapan-Hyde Park area is home to a large number of Haitian-Americans, promoting it there makes sense. Here's their website: http://www.radioazure.com/ There are dozens of Haitian pirates on AM and FM in Brockton, Randolph, Mattapan, and Dorchester. Some have been around as long as 15 years, like the 3 TX simulcast on 89.3 (Brockton, Randolph, Mattapan). I worked with a fellow named Mark Bashore ("Bay-shore") at WBOS some decades ago; since so many other jocks used pseudonyms I assumed he did, too; but no, that was his real name. Larry King of WCRB (and World Classical Network) also uses his real name, and Sunday evenings he competes with himself in southern Rhode Island, where WCRB is repeated on Bryant University's WJMF while WCN is carried on WCRI. Never before in my career have I heard a jock on two competing stations in the same market, in the same time slot, using the same name, and playing the same format. I don't recall seeing that, but I have seen some recently (including one today with no subject) where the message I received began with a full set of headers, possibly from an unedited reply. The headers more than filled the 25-line preview window in my email client. My rule for messages like that (or ones that begin with multiple levels of unedited quotes) is that if I don't see any part of the new content of the message in my preview window that message is deleted unread. My reasoning is that if someone can't be bothered to edit a message I can't be bothered to read it. Dale H. This is an unavoidable consequence of Google, Yahoo! and AOL having decided to break Internet email. See . The alternative was to forbid users of Yahoo! Mail and AOL from posting to the list. I decided that there were enough valuable contributors posting from those webmail services that I didn't want to arbitrarily cut them off. -GAWollman
