I don't know about Joe's second point, but his first point is probably correct.  I have an hour-long aircheck of Jim Dixon from April 15, 1961.  It clearly IDs as "WNAC and WRKO FM Boston."  Same thing for a Roy Leonard aircheck on June 16, 1961.
