Yes the transmitter was on top of the Giant Store.studios were on the 4th
floor..then the offices/studios moved to Church Street and the transmitter
site moved to along the Merrimack River (across the street from Top Donut)
where it still is today...land leased from the City of Lowell for free (I
still haven't figured who made that deal).

Wasn't the WLLH Lowell transmitter at the old Giant department store on
Dutton St?
My recollection is that WLLH caused a RF nightmare at WXPO-TV 2 blocks away
and the TV station's hopes of becoming a commercial production house were
ruined as they didn't have the money to fix the problem.
There were several nights that we taped things in the middle of the night
when WLLH was off air.
