That was a unique selling point about the Phoenix.  Yeah, some of what 
they wrote was "lib-rull," but their political reporters and 
investigative reporters followed the story no matter where it took 
them-- they fearlessly took on the powerful from both parties, and they 
did some of the best media criticism in the city.
