Hello all,
It has been quite some time since I have posted. I was told about the post that Laurence made back in Nov. I read it and figured I'd bring you up to date with a thumbnail update.
I have two kinds of cancer, prostate and a rare brain cancer called Chrodoma. Treatment for the prostate cancer is scheduled to end this fall after almost 2 and a half years. Chordoma is very rare, only about 300 cases diagnosed a year in the U-S (damn, I should have played the lottery! LOL )
As Laurence mentioned I did have surgery to remove the brain tumor last July, they got most but not all of it. I then underwent a couple of months of Proton Beam Radiation at Mass General. Next step is an MRI this summer to see if we have put the tumor back into its dormant state.
I've been back at work since January and I am doing nights again on WBUR.
There is certainly more, but that's a thumbnail of what is going on. I feel good and everything is back to normal (of course I was never normal before all this happened! :) )
Later
Dave Faneuf
