Former WCAP personality Dan Gillette passed away on April 4th. Mr. Gillette was with WCAP for several years in the 1950's & 1960's. His obituary in the Lowell Sun mentions he hosted one of the earliest call in radio talk shows and he interviewed many popular names of the day such as celebrated author Jack Kerouac & actress Bette Davis (both natives of Lowell). After he left radio he formed his own real estate company and was active with several civic & fraternal organizations. Mr. Gillette was one of the many former WCAP personalities who appeared on the WCAP 55th anniversary broadcast in 2006, IIRC he was the only WCAP alum from the 1950's in attendance.
