NHPTV talking about "collaboration"

NHPTV lost a lot of funding in the last year and is exploring their options, including merging operations with WGBH. I don't watch a lot of public TV but I do support the idea of independent stations supported by the community in each market. While economically it makes sense it seems like it defeats some of the purpose of educational, non-commercial television.
