It is a big part Joe

A lot of the younger crowd never had a real attachment to AM like we did. WRKO went talk almost 30 years ago as did BZ and HDH. 

First thing the Krafts did when they bought the Patriots was move the games to WBCN.

I wonder how much that correlates with the tendency of older people to 
listen more to AM radio and younger people to listen more to FM.
