Pete Sheppard's FB rant at Sports Hub

The many comments posted in response to the rant tells Sheppard everything he needs to know about why SportsHub has no desire to talk to him. The synopsis is "If he gets hired, I stop listening". He was most definitely associated with everything that was wrong about WEEI when the station had zero competition (so it's success was illusory) and its listeners had no alternative (though some did escape to satellite...national, rather than local view but better than what "EEI was offering.) Sheppard is the literal and figurative illustration of the bloated and egocentric WEEI....who claims that their recent major changes had nothing to do with the success of SportsHub and erosion of ratings and more to do with changing with the times...what a joke! So Sheppard thinks that Mike Thomas has no credibility as a Sports programmer? I would think his success at configuring a sports radio magnet, one that in less than two years has changed the face of radio in Boston, illustrates how little Sheppard understands about the industry in which he once worked and is probably responsible for his current situation. He should continue on the poker-playing tour, sparing us all from ever having to hear his talentless voice, and I suspect his rant will (hopefully) ensure same. The Wolfe/Kahn ship is taking on water....fast......

Other than the Doc Rivers/Terry Francona interviews (which are poorly conducted but if you want to hear from the coaches, it's all there is), I haven't listened to 'EEI since SportsHub debuted. I knew what a poor product WEEI was, but there was no real local alternative. It was nirvana when SH was launched...no more Sheppard, no more Smerlas/DeOssie, no more 9 minute stop sets becasue the "hosts" decided to indulge themselves in a self-serving interview or dialogue about steak houses......It's SportsHub and XM/Sirius for me! I know of no sports enthusiasts who don't listent to SportsHub...WEEI is fast becoming the vacant storefront of sports radio in Boston.

I saw that yesterday and honestly thought someone had hacked his account.

Pete was a victim of Entercom snipping what they can as the Red Sox contract
is killing them. Talk to any staffer at WGR or WBEN in Buffalo and ask them
how they feel about the Red Sox.
