WEEI

There was no stunting when WEEI went all-sports.

Bob Oakes did a voicer on some state house story, which included a
whistful-sounding reference to further updates.
Jim Mitchell did a ten second talk-up to the hour that included a brief
goodbye, didn't break format for a syllable, talked into a sportsradio
jingle and Bob Ames came in with the four o'clock news using sportsradio
identifiers.

It was pretty much the same way when they started back in '74 or so, when
Norm Nathan and Ben Farnsworth took a pitch from the overnight talk jok,
either Marc Holmes or Bruce Lee, said welcome to the first day of All
Newsradio 59 and away they went.
