Not sure if anyone else remembers the Don Kent weather station (or 
something like that) that was in the window of (IIRC) the Central 
Savings Bank in Lowell? It was a (by today's standards) low-tech screen 
with text and a barometer. Likely went away in the late 70s....  
Methinks there were others tucked away around Greater Boston.  I can 
only imagine what technology got the data to the window!
