Chicago TV station turns back the clock 30 years

Carol Marin was at WMAQ-TV. Both she and Ron Magers quit when NBC
hired Joel Cheatwood from WSVN-WHDH to revamp local news. Cheatwood
was wrongly blamed for the Springer move which was actually done by
New York as part of the deal for Springer to tape at NBC Tower even
though WMAQ never aired the show.

Cheatwood then wound up at CBS and tried the WSVN format at both WCBS and WBBM.

In Chicago WLS Eyewitness News is just impossible to beat now.
