No, Howdy Doody was not on channel 5. Boomtown ran for three hours
on Saturday morning, and ended at 10:00, which was when Howdy Doody
came on. Howdy Doody finished on channel 4, and it was replaced by
Shari Lewis, which was also on channel 4.

Meet the Press was being bumped on channel 4 long before. For awhile
it was carried on channel 2, without commercials. It went to channel
5 as soon as channel 5 came on.
