If the price were right, maybe...but beyond whatever name recognition 38 
still has left, and the good cable positioning it has across the entire 
market, NBC would still be left with the challenge of having to build a 
new station from scratch, since WSBK's studio facility and staff would 
stay with CBS/WBZ. (And there's still the reality that the last thing 
NBC wants to be doing right now is buying another TV station, when it 
can't even sell the stuff it wants to unload.)

If WBZ/WSBK weren't network-owned, I could certainly imagine 38 coming 
into play as a new home for NBC while remaining part of the duopoly with 
WBZ. But with CBS owning the pair, that won't be happening.
