Danforth would not become topdog until around 1981 but he had the
inside track for the top job during the Williams era.

He was the ultimate bottom liner and he was driven to make sure
Westinghouse would not meet the same fate as another Pittsburgh icon
Gulf Oil.

I do know in the mid 70's he had tremendous clout in the broadcast division.

It is a name you do not drop in working class Pittsburgh to this day.
