Yes.  Copyright inheres in a work from the moment it is "fixed in
tangible form" (e.g., recorded on tape or disk), and if Berman was in
the ESPN studios or offices at the time, he was presumably recorded by
other ESPN employees and thus those recordings would be "works made
for hire" and belong to ESPN/TWDC.
