What station was this?

Last night I was listening to WFCR while driving home from Western 
Massachusetts on the Turnpike.  Sometime around the Natick exit, a 
station playing what sounded like Hispanic music started cutting in 
and out over WFCR.  Around the Route 128 exit, WFCR disappeared and 
the other station took over.  I checked, and it was right on 88.5, 
not above or below.  I didn't think there was any licensed station on 
88.5 around here.  Could it be a pirate?
