WO9-8989 was Talk shows through the ages

Sounds like the Pediatrician either got the former famous number by
luck of the draw or selected it from a list of available
numbers--undoubtedly long after Ken Mayer's demise. Unlikely that
anyone is in the doctor's office really late on weekend nights when
nostalgia buffs--ones who presumably listen to George Noory at the
same hour during the week--might try dialing the 969 number looking
for a connection to Kenny from beyond the grave :>) Note, however,
that since the advent of all of the new area codes in Greater Boston,
you must preface the 969 with 617. In Mayer's day, that was not
necessary if you were calling from eastern Mass.
