Last week, when I met up with some folks on a trip to D.C., someone gave me a couple copies of old American Top 40 shows with Casey Kasem from 1984 and 1985. It was remarkable the breadth of music that hit the charts then-- I was astonished by some of the stuff I heard. It shows you how fragmented "pop" music has become in 20 years.
