FCC of late...creeping intimidation

The latest example of FCC absurdity:

"Powell implied that the FCC must balance the benefits of BPL against the
relative value of other licensed services.
...(he)...said BPL's potential for the US economy "is too great, too
enormous, too potentially groundbreaking to sit idly by and allow any claim
or any possible speculative fear" keep the Commission from promoting
adoption of BPL technology...(in reference to)...concerns raised by Public
Safety licensees, federal government users and Amateur Radio
operators...."of actual co-channel interference emanating from unshielded
power lines...

Just like IBOC....the FCC choice is to "start it up" and fix the generated
interference problems later.....
