EAS Problem In CT Today

  Just saw a report on WCVB (Channel 5) that there was a false EAS 
(Emergency Alert System) evacuation emergency message was sent out in 
Connecticut this afternoon. Instead of the weekly EAS test, viewers of some 
TV stations and cable TV systems in CT saw an EAS message telling residents 
to evacuate the state. The CT Office of Emergency Management and Homeland 
Security confirmed in a press release that it was an erroneous message that 
went out in place of the EAS test and that no emergency took place. An 
investigation is underway into how this happened.
