The UMass Boston radio station has been WUMB for about thirty years now 
-- at least since the Harbor Campus opened in January of 1974 -- maybe 
longer. Of course, then it was carrier current AM only and rarely heard 
outside of the cafeterias.

The choice of new call letters seems logical, if U Mass holds the license.
