'RKO's "VB" off to Ch. 25 morning show

On today's Howie Carr Show, Howie had a "big
announcement" (along with the news that Ch. 56 
has hired former Dem. gov. candidate Shannon O'Brien
as a once-weekly consumer reporter). The news was that
Doug "Virgin Boy" Goudie will be leaving WRKO in a
couple of weeks and will start his new job on the 
Fox25 morning show which premieres in September. He'll
be a kind of commentator; no word on whether he'll
just be billed as "VB" or whether Fox will ask him to
use his real name. 

"Does this mean 'The Pit' is gone too?," asked a
caller, and VB replied, "Yes." (So...what will 'RKO
fill the 10p- 1a slot with-- Alan Colmes? A locally
based show? Phil Hendrie?) 

VB wouldn't rule out the occasional fill-in on 'RKO,
and I guess if things don't work out at his new job,
he might be able to get his show back (or at least be
Howie's sidekick again). Hmm, VB, time to get that
car-- it's a long walk from "Chestnut Hill" to
Dedham...
